GE: What’s Your Lighting Style?

For ten years, GE struggled to achieve a seemingly lofty and unattainable goal – making lighting relevant to consumers and business. With studies showing that consumers don’t spend more than a minute in the lighting aisle, they hardly have time to think about their options. GE came to Keathley for answers.

We developed a branded campaign that encouraged consumers to consider lighting as important as paint and other home décor. Campaign elements included:

  • A 3D interactive website to teach visitors how to use lighting to enhance décor and create moods that are appropriate for their personality and lifestyle.
  • GE MoodCam™: An iPhone application to show users their homes under different lighting and to provide design tips, shopping list and 3-step Bulb Finder feature.
  • Social Media: Twitter and Facebook pages to provide timely design tips and forums for conversation among audiences.

Results: To date, the campaign has garnered millions of impressions. Affiliated digital assets have been nominated for prestigious awards including SXSW,

the Webby Awards, and the ad:tech awards. Social media efforts have earned over 30,000 Facebook fans and thousands of Twitter followers.
